Domestic water-treatment

The treatment of water consumed for nutrition purposes is of utmost importance. As a result of pollution and due to the inevitable use of antiseptic chemicals, our water supplies contain many substances that are advisable to be removed.

Some of these substances are widely known to be harmful to health  (like nitrate, arsenic, heavy metals etc.),  while others are less known (e.g. trihalomethanes, chlorine-amines etc.) that form mainly during the process of water chlorination and are to be avoided because of their carcinogenic effect.

Other than that, our household equipment (like our washing-machine, washing-up machine, boiler, water heater and taps etc.) cost a lot, so their protection and preservation is also an important  issue. We can do this by applying very simple devices: for example by using filters. By this their lifetime can be extended and at the same time their failure can be prevented.

Taking these aspects into account, a complete water-treatment system consists of the following units:

  • Mechanical filtration (for the removal of suspended solids and residuals)

  • Scale prevention by alternative methods, NOT softening (You can find our softeners here)
  • Chlorine-removal
  • (Sometimes nitrate-removal or iron-removal)
