Water-balance determination
General information about water testing:
Basin water always strives to achieve equilibrium. Balancing water can be achieved by the precipitation of dissolved minerals or, if they are not, dissolved.
The water balance is represented by the water saturation index (SI). In equilibrium, this value is 0.
If the water balance is overturned, you may experience the following symptoms:
1. If the SI value is above + 0.3, there is a descaling on the surface of the pool, or due to the precipitation it causes the water to penetrate.
2. - For SI values below 0.3, the water seeks to dissolve the minerals (fungus, concrete) from the contact surfaces, corroding the metal surfaces. In this case lime is an aggressive pool water. Depending on the result of the test, increasing the value of alkalinity requires DINAX ALKAL PLUS P or all of the hardness enhancement products.
The water balance measurement includes the following parameters:
- Total alkalinity,
- pH value,
- temperature
- SI index calculation based on calcium
The minimum sample volume required is 0,5 litre. It is recommended that the sample be drawn into a clean, decarbonated mineral water bottle, rinsed several times with the sample and filled to the top. The maximum storage time of the sample (from sampling to testing) is 24 hours, but it is advisable to take the water sample immediately before leaving for our shop and to store it refrigerated - for reliable results.
Please bring water samples to the shop by 12.00 on Wednesday each week.
